Stephanie Hinkle, 12U Gold

Stephanie literally grew up on the volleyball courts in Seattle where her mom was the Club Director of Rain City VBC, Washington. Her primary position was setter, but she also spent time as an Outside Hitter and Defensive Specialist. Stephanie played for six years with the club. At the high school level, Stephanie was a two year varsity starter at Bothell High School and then played a year of volleyball at Manhattan College and another year at Shoreline Community College where she earned First Team All-Conference setting honors. Stephanie transferred to Missouri Valley College (MVC) for her junior and senior years. During her junior year, she earned All-Conference First Team honors as a setter and then transitioned to the left side role where she earned Second Team All-Conference honors as an Outside Hitter her senior year. Stephanie was a four year Academic All-American and graduated from MVC with a BA in Communications in 2004. After college, she had the opportunity to play a short time with a semi-professional team in Laredo, Spain and later returned to the Seattle area where she played with a women’s club. She played at the adult level, making six trips to Nationals. Stephanie returned to the Midwest, attending Mizzou and earning her Masters Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in photojournalism in 2010.

Since she was 18, Stephanie has been involved coaching and has trained players at almost every level from tiny tots to 18U. She coached seven years with Rain City VBC as both an assistant and head coach. From 2000-2002, Stephanie was the 18U assistant coach and the 15U and 16U head coach with Space Needle Volleyball Foundation,Washington. In 2004 and 2005, she served as JV Coach at Mariner High School, Everett, WA and in 2007 and 2008, Stephanie was a head coach with Columbia VBC, Missouri, coaching 15U and 16U girls. Stephanie worked with the USA Volleyball High Performance Program from 2013-2015 in the Puget Sound Region. She has been IMPACT certified since 2004. Stephanie also has USAV Safe Sport and AAU Concussion training along with holding a CPR First aid certification.

Stephanie is a USA Volleyball National Scorekeeper, keeping the books for college matches and will be working with the Gateway Region teaching scorekeeping clinics. Stephanie will serve as the ELITE VBC scorekeeping clinician.

In the fall of 2016, Stephanie began her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis. This is a significant career change from her original goal of being a photojournalist! She is excited to be back in the Midwest, starting a new chapter of her life and coaching with ELITE VBC. Welcome Stephanie!
